SUNSUN CUV-209 UV-C Lamp

The 9 W SUNSUN CUV-209 UV-C lamp is designed to inhibit the growth of algae, bacteria, and other microorganisms responsible for cloudiness and greening of the water. The device is intended for ponds with a capacity of up to 8,000 liters; however, for koi ponds, the recommended maximum volume is 3,000 liters. The recommended flow rate of 1,500 l/h allows for effective UV-C irradiation of the flowing water without the need for chemical treatments. The model is equipped with universal, stepped connection ports ranging from 3/4" (approx. 19 mm) to 1 1/2" (approx. 38 mm), allowing it to work seamlessly with many pumps and filtration systems.

Effective algae elimination and improved water clarity

During periods of intense sunlight, algae can multiply very quickly in the water, causing it to turn green and deteriorating conditions in the pond. The SUNSUN CUV-209 UV-C lamp uses ultraviolet radiation to destroy algae, bacteria, and germs floating in the water. As a result of UV-C radiation, the structure of algae cells is damaged, and the algae themselves clump together into larger clusters that can be easily removed by a mechanical filter. Thanks to this, the water gradually regains its clarity, and the first effects of regular operation can be seen within about 14 days.

A safe solution for fish and plants

The purification process takes place without the addition of chemicals, so the lamp can be used in tanks inhabited by fish and planted with aquatic plants. UV-C radiation acts exclusively inside the device as water flows through it, reducing the number of unwanted microorganisms circulating in the system. At the same time, it does not disrupt the natural functioning of biological filters, as the beneficial bacteria responsible for breaking down pollutants primarily colonize filter media, rocks, and surfaces throughout the pond’s ecosystem. This makes it easier to maintain stable conditions conducive to the healthy growth of fish and plants.

Well-thought-out design and convenient installation

A specially designed internal component directs the water flow to ensure longer contact with the UV-C lamp, which increases purification efficiency. The device’s symmetrical design allows the ports to be used as either an inlet or an outlet, facilitating installation in various configurations. The housing is made of durable ABS and ASA plastics resistant to the conditions found in a pond environment. A long, five-meter power cord and the option for wall mounting further enhance ease of use and allow the unit to be easily integrated into an existing filtration system.
